I was in finland for holiday. Everything I  made there you can actually see on the following pictures. You will see that I´m yet not able to write that much.

Enjoy the pictures,

Language Tour

Before a few weeks I signed up spontaneously for a YFU thingy. Actually I had at this point no clue what will happen to me.
Well I signed up, two days later already I went by bus with other YFU people to a preperation camp. There some woman told us what will happening to us...we are going to make a language tour. This means we will go in differend schools for 2 weeks, will stay in each school in class for one lesson and teach them.
Teach students? What we should teach them?
All about that we learned in the camp. We had workshops, practical exercises and of course a lot of fun. I really love YFU estonia in the sense when it comes to volunteer work. Everbody is motivated and full of enthusiasm.
This camp last for two days and after this two days I wasn´t that sure if could manage to give lessons to a class, but how I am I signed up for a lot lessons...
On monday the first day after the preparation camp the language tour already started. My first lesson I teached was in my school here (Reaal Kool). I was kinda excided, but it was so much fun and the students were interested in what we told them. WE that means...happily I did not teach them alone.
Every lesson we teached with 3 people. And any time we teached was so much fun. Of course there were classes which were more or less interested, but we managed any time pretty good.
So in the last weeks I had around 20 lessons or probably more. I travelled 3 times to Tartu hold there also presentations. I meet cool people and saw a lot of interesting places. Almost every school we went to was so thankful and liked our lesson we gave to the students.
Till that point I did not told what we´ve teached to the students. We teached them about culture and culture differences. We had also a quite intersting exercise for the students so that they understand what culture really is and of course we have made some promotion for YFU, but this was not the real point we focused on the most.
Actually this Languge Tour last only for two weeks, but some schools were so fascinated of us that they wanted to have more lessons.

...about FOOD

Nii yesterday I picked up a package from my family at the post office. Inside of the package were at the one part some ski stuff for my upcoming trip to finland, but at the other part there were Brötchen inside.
The thing is: IN ESTONIA THEY DON´T HAVE BRÖTCHEN.
Elucidation for the estonians which don´t know what it is. The english word for it is bread roll or just roll. At home in germany we have bread rolls almost everyday. For me these rolls taste the best with butter, but actually you can put everything you want on it. Cheese, meat...or even Marshmallows or chocolate. In my hometown there is a bakery and from there you have the choice of around 15 (perhaps my family in germany will correct me but I think the number is right) sorts of rolls. For more informations about what this bread rolls...Wikipedia will tell you everything.
It was heaven for me to eat such a roll today again and the noise it makes when you crush it a bit. As you see/read I missed them.

And now for my german blog readers, maybe you ask yourself now...what does the estonians eat for breakfast if they don´t have bread rolls?
They eat blackbread or porridge. And here they don´t have that many bakerys as we have in germany. So they buy everytime the same blackbread from the store. And they eat it like french people eat their baguette. I also have to say I´m not the big porridge fan. Some porridges are quite okay, but some estonians are going to make salty porride and eat it then with jam. Salty porridge with jam? No way!

Here are some more estonian eating attached habits:
-you eat sour cream with everything and if I say everything then I mean everthing
-let´s make pizza and take for the tomato sauce Ketchup...it´s kind of the same, isn´t it?
-milk is like water for estonians, you drink milk even while eating fish
-do you ever heard about Kohuke? it´s probably the best food I ate here
-there is excisting a day (it was on wednesday) on wich you only eat this little cake with whipped cream
-kohupiim, kodujuust...KOwhatever
-a lot of meat...I have to say here are some vegetarian exchange students, but after some weeks/days they were meat lovers...this explains a lot
-cake drunk in milk
-a least what would be estonia without potatoes?
